This is the card I made for Jess for her 22nd birthday. The gingham paper is by Kanban as is the image, both purchased from Grimsby Crafts. The flowers are Marianne Craftables, which I love, they are one of my new purchases for the new year from Cutting Edge Crafts. I cannot believe my cousin Loraine made the same card lol.

I am sorry I have not blogged for ages. Things have been difficult for the past few months. My health has not been good and I lost a very dear friend and fellow crafter. Carole I miss you loads but you are flying free with the angels now, RIP xx.

For the 1st year I never made my Christmas cards I know some people were disappointed as they said they enjoy getting them every year. Promise they will be made next year.

FOR A VERY SPECIAL PERSON

This is my very first attempt at altered art. I went along to Tilly's Craft shop and saw the chipboard frame that was in the sale. I then saw the lovely backing paper and knew I could only use it for someone very special. So began the beginning of the frame.

This is for a very special person Robyn who has become such a wonderful person in my life. We have never actually met as she lives in Michigan USA, but Jane and I are planning on visiting soon. We are so close now it is like we have known each other forever. We are now sister from different mother's .

The verse is from the "verse for you" website and it says everything.

HELLO

Well it is ages since I updated my blog. I just don't know were the time has gone. I have spent a lovely weekend in London for my niece Catherine's 30th Birthday. It was a black tie party, so needed a new dress for for the occasion. I enjoyed shopping for a new dress now I have lost lots of weight, and felt really good on the night. It was lovely to meet up with all my nieces and nephew's who I don't see as often as I would like to, and Catherine and Eoin now live in Sweden. I can feel a visit coming on as Catherine has tempted me telling me there is a very large craft store just a few blocks away. I was totally spoilt for the whole weekend.

The card above was made for my friend for her new grandson. Thank you to Anne Tate for the loan of the stamp, which was stamped ages ago, and painted by Jane.

DAY OF FUN

I have had such a lovely day today I thought I would share it with you. Firstly one of my closest friends Julie has moved into the flat opposite me today. Julie was my neighbour many years ago when my daughter and her daughter were small, we have been in touch over the years but have got close again now which is so nice. We were joking the other day that in the summer we used to be in the gardens with the paddling pools out, now they are grown up we can sit out with a bottle of wine now sounds so much fun.

Some other friends Jaime & Jason were helping her move so I looked after their daughter Tiagan. I was really looking forward to this, I was up early cutting lots of different things out on the big shot, pictures, did lots of flowers, animals, glue and other messy bits. I am not sure who had the most fun me or Tiagan. The picture above is of me and Tiagan. I have now been invited by Tiagan to her house to paint but only if I am good she said. Thank you Tiagan for a lovely day, you made some lovely pictures. One of the sweetest things she said was can I call you auntie raine, when I said of course you can she said and you can call me Tiagan, so sweet.

I even managed an appointment at the dentist and a flying visit to Grimsby Crafts. So think I need an early night got a day out with my special friend Jane tomorrow and a party tomorrow night. Such a busy life.

BUSY DAY

These are just 2 of the cards I have made today, I have got another one to photograph but I am wait for the glitter to dry. In the card above I have used a decoupage sheet from Craft Creation which I have had ages. The backing paper was pink bazzil (grimsby crafts) and the vellum is beautiful it is glittered and really stands out. (hobby house) The flowers were made from the left over bits of vellum and bazzil.

Once again I have had the book of tricks board out again. Not used it in ages then twice within a month. I had been looking at this finished card for ages and just knew it needed something else, so a quick trip to Jane's to get another perspective and yes Jane decided it needed flowers so as you can see that's what finished it off. Jane even provided the flower's as we are waiting for our order to be delivered from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Well as I said it has been a busy day but with doing lots of different things. I have helped my special friend Julie move some things into her new flat, we are now neighbours, although I couldn't help much I provided the car to transport items. Looking forward to all the wine/vodka nights and not far to stagger home. I have also cleaned my craft room ready to start again tomorrow.

SORRY IT'S BEEN A WHILE.

This card is for a friend of mine who's son is getting married at the end of the month. The topper is a lilli of the valley one, I am loving the lilli of the valley things at the moment. The backing paper is gorgeous it is embossed and glittered, i love it, I bought it from the Hobby House, must go and buy some more hahaha. Now to the flower, my very special friend Jane gave me a demonstration on how to make this. The flower idea was from the Magnolia Book. The flower is made of layers of tissue paper then cut out with the circle nestability, I have put a brad in the middle to hold them all together. Then sprayed the flower with water and when dry scrunched it up and added some stickles.

Yesterday I had a lovely day spent with Jane, I am going to London at the end of the month to my niece's 30th party, as it is a black tie party I needed something to wear. I don't do long dresses rather have leggings/t shirt or jeans. Anyway had a dress rehearsal with Jane and feel so much better about the outfit now.

We later went for a drive to Tilly's craft shop in Immingham and bought lots of lovely papers and other items. Both Jane and I were amazed that the prices were so low. I can highly recommend a trip to this craft shop.

I will hopefully be back later with some more cards as i have got a busy day in the craft room. Craft and loud music (Nickleback) fabulous day.

GOLDEN WEDDING

I really enjoyed making this card. It has been a long time since I have used my embossing boards from the Glitter Girls.

I have used the book of tricks board and used gold mirri card for the base, then pale lilac pearl card (Grimsby Crafts) and then cream pearl paper and acetate from my stock. I cut a heart out with the sizzex heart frame and filled it with cream flowers from my stock. I just added some leaves and pearls to finish it off. I just need to make a box for it to go in.

In previous blogs I have said my shelving kept falling down, well before I went into hospital I had got some more but never got round to putting them up. As a surprise whilst in hospital Jason, Jaime & Julie put them up for me, thanks so much I am really grateful and it was a lovely surprise. There was plenty more room on them when I first saw them well I am now filling them up very quickly, and my lovely tidy/clean craft room is now a mess.

Just a quick blog just to say I am now out of hospital after a 9 day stay. I would like to thank everyone for all the cards, gifts, text messages, emails they are all very much appreciated. Thank you to all my family and friends for all the visits for making the stay that much easier.

I am not going to name individuals as I am sure I would miss someone out, but I am sure you all know who you are. I would like to say a special thank you to my Mum, Dad and daughter Lisa you have all been so caring and supportive through this difficult time. I love you all very much, and now hope things can get better.

This experience has taught me a lot and I did carefully think about it before putting it on my blog, and I hope others can benefit from it. A special friend had to give me a good talking to/telling me off, for me to listen, so here goes.

A while ago someone wrote some very nasty and vindictive things about me, saying I was attention seeking and more able than I made out. So when I started becoming ill I was ignoring it and what my friends were telling me as subconsciously those words had stuck in my mind and I didn't want to appear to be attention seeking. As I became more ill and my friends were begging me to do something about it I was just ignoring the fact that I was ill.

Then a very close friend who I trust came and gave me some home truths as to why was I listening to people who don't matter in my life and are insignificant and not listening to my true friends who care about me and were very worried about me. After a lot of tears and hugs I finally agreed to see a doctor and receive some treatment. As most of my close friends already know this was to late the relapse had been left to long and treatment wouldn't be effective, so I have just got to ride it out and keep taking painkillers.

I know it has been a tough time for my family especially my daughter and my close friends and I apologise for not listening to you all earlier.

Well I had a lot of time to think in hospital and I now feel it is time to put this all behind me and move on, it has been a difficult time and I hope people realise that sometime things that are written or said can be very hurtful and destroy lives. I will not return to it again but felt I had to write it down and move on.

EASTER CARD

As most of you will know I haven't been well for a while now, it slowly getting worse. Well last Friday my lovely friend Jane came round armed with buns, crisps and a lovely cake as well as with Easter stamps. Jane thought a day crafting would help take my mind of the pain and illness. We painted and stamped and of course laughed, all the old joke of rabbits came out again. I don't know how Jane does it but she the the ability to make you laugh however you are feeling, which is a good tonic.

I cannot take credit for the card as Jane did most of it but wanted to share it with you as Friday was a special day. Oh and we did end up spending money buying craft item off the Internet, so even staying in is not saving money.

Another quick thank you to Sue for the lovely phone call this afternoon it was much appreciated and getting me motivated with putting the cards on the blog. Well I am sure you will be pleased to hear that is the last blog of the afternoon. My other lovely friend Julie is popping round.

I am not sure when I will be able to blog again but hopefully it wont be to long now I have accepted I am in need of some treatment.

TIAGAN BIRTHDAY

This card is for the beautiful Tiagan who will be 3 this week. I have used a Magnolia stamp for the girl and the cup cake, the cup cake is one I had stamped ages (thanks to Lynda Dolby) for lending the stamp, it's been in my stash for ages. I have used distress inks for the painting and sat the girl on the cupcake. The papers I have had ages and am try hard to use up.

Tiagan loves cooking and baking and she goes with her mummy & daddy to cooking groups in the week. They all make the most beautiful cup cakes. They are to die for.

Sorry I will miss your party sweetie, but save me a hug and I will see you very soon. Have a fantastic day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CADEN

This is for my other grandson Caden who I cannot believe will be 6 on the 17th of March. Anyone who knows Caden will know this card has all his favourite things on. He loves ice lollies, ice cream cup cakes/ french fancies and computer games. The backing paper I bought last year with Caden in mind it is from Tillys Craft Shop in Immingam, again the topper is from Lilli of the Vally cut on the nestabilities. I am sure he will love it.

When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he gave me a very long list I am sure it was nearly the Argos catalogue but right at the bottom of the list was a 10p mixed bag of sweets from his favourite corner shop, which I am sure he would really love. He will have to visit his best friend Jane in her shop for some sweets, which he does on the way home from school if she is working.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEENAN

I have got 4 cards to share but I am doing them as separate blogs as not sure how much time I have to blog. I am sorry about the photo's quality but my hands are not good at the moment.

This card is for my lovely Grandson Keenan who's birthday is next week and will be 10. He is a big Liverpool supporter so I have made the card in Liverpool colors. The topper is from lilli of the valley and been cut with nestabilities. The football ribbon I have had ages and that is the piece I had left. I have also used some football rub on's that I found. Keenan plays football for a local team and they are top of the league at the moment and I am so proud of him as he is the top scorer of the team. Have a lovely birthday Keenan. I love you loads.

A MIXED UP WEEK

The card above is for one of my friends to give to her mum for Mother's Day. I have used a Kanban decoupage, from Grimsby Crafts. I have used the backing paper from a pad from the Do Crafts range, all finished off with flower, charm & ribbon.

The second card is also from the Kanban range and one I have had for ages I just found them when I was doing some long awaited cleaning/tidying in my craft room. So I am now using them up now. I seem to have been using lots of things from my stock but it never seems to go down.

As I said in the title last week was a very mixed up week for me. Saturday evening I was taken to hospital with severe pain and several other things going on. As a result of this was sent to see my neurologist in Hull on Thursday for an emergency appointment. On the positive side I hadn't had a small stroke as at first thought but that my MS is getting more severe and not going to get any better than it is at the moment. It is something I will just have to learn to cope with in my own way.

I realised I had some very good and caring friends. Julie was a star on Saturday night at the hospital with me, Jane for coming with me for the appointment in Hull, you made a difficult day so much easier. Stuart for all your support and caring and for being there with the hugs when I have needed you most over the last 8 months, you are best Stuart. To everyone else who has shown support and caring thank you too. Everything over the past few weeks has made me stop and and take stock of my life and realise what is important in life. Live for the moment, let the bad things go and embrace all the good things in your life. I sure am going to.

To finish on a lighter the card that I posted earlier for Alexis she absolutely loved it, her Nanna said she jumped up and down so excited to get a card from England that she feel over.

ACROSS THE MILES

This is the card I made for a very special little girl. As I have said in earlier blogs I have made a very special friend Robyn who lives in Michigan USA and we have become more like sisters over the months. This card is for her granddaughter Alexis who was 7 yesterday. Alexis also loves to make cards and is sending me some pictures of some she has made. I am now know to Alexis as Aunt Rainy from the UK, how sweet is that, thank you Alexis, and hope you had a very special day yesterday and enjoy your birthday surprise from Aunt Amber & Uncle Matt.

The image is on of the Magnolia range and painted with distress inks. I love the backing paper it is so girly think I need to buy some more of that. It is from The Hobby House. All finished off with flower and charm.

I stamped another image and popped the paper and other bits in the envelop so Alexis could make the card as well.

I am having a lazy day today with Ieasha. I picked her up this morning and have spent the day together before she goes to her friends sleepover birthday party. Good luck Jaime & Jason all those teenagers sleeping over.

BUSY DAY

I have had a busy day today. I have made 6 cards, but some were quick and easy. The card above was made for my lovely friend Stephen to give to his mum, whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday Mary. As it was a last minute order I used a dufex lady and matted it on nestabilities added a bow. The cream embossed card is from The Paper Mill shop which I have had for ages. It is all finished off with a flower and a charm.

The second card is for me to give to a friend's daughter. I have stamped a Whiff of Joy image it have been painted with distress inks. It is one I did ages ago and just never got round to making up. I have also matted it onto nestabilities.

Today has been a busy day, apart from making cards I have done some housework and visited my good friends Jaimie , Jason and the adorable Teigan, whio invited me to her 3rd birthday party which I shall really look forward to.

Tomorrow I going out for lunch with mum, dad and my daughter Lisa which I am really looking forward too.

FOR LILLI MAI

This card is for my mum to give to her great granddaughter Lilli Mai. She will be 7 on her birthday how the years fly. I have used 1 of the new Lilli Of The Vally Toppers I am loving these at the moment and they have a really good range. I have used backing paper out of my stash and matted and layered the image using the nestabilities. I have finished it of with a bow, flower made out of the left over bits of paper and a ballet dance charm which has been in my box for ages, think it is from the Hobby House.

When I saw this image it took me back to the years when my daughter was little and she used to love clomping about in my high heels and then her daughter Ieasha doing the same, most little girls love the high heels and being grown up. Cannot remember how many heels Lisa snapped off doing this, but remember she did manage to snap the heel off my favourite pair which I didn't know she had found.

I am not sure if I will be posting anymore cards this week seem to have a busy week and I have got Caden on Sunday so I am sure I will be back with some of his famous words/quotes. I love spending time with my Grandchildren, special times.

WISE WORDS

I have never met Robyn face to face but she has become very special to me in the way some people do, like you have always known them. We have become more like sister's which is wonderful. Robyn lives in USA and our one promise to each other is that we are going to meet and sit and chat over a coffee, don't think we will stop for days. I do have Robyns permission to post this here. Life is like a book........You are the author and everyday is a new page. If people in your life are turning it into a soap opera, write them out of your next chapter. Sometimes, characters can be written back into the story and sometimes they are gone from the story for good.

SPECIAL CARD

I made this card last night, really wanted to get back into doing some stamping and painting and also play with my goodies I bought on Tuesday.

The image is "Flower Girl" from the Sugar Nellie Stamps, from Grimsby Crafts, I have painted the image with distress inks and used to glitter. I also bought the Marianne frame from Grimsby Crafts and have used both sizes of it to create the boarder, and put some pearls around it. The backing Paper's and pearls were from my stash, I just had enough to do the card and make the flower. It is finished off with ribbon & bow which was on one of the gift packs I got for Christmas, and still plenty left to do some more.

Can I take this opportunity to wish Lynn who has bought Grimsby Crafts on Littlecoats Road every success with her new business. After chatting we realised we knew each other and had mutual friends from our other working lives. It was nice to catch up, and loving all the new stock you are getting in. It is well worth a visit.

FIRST CARD OF 2011

I have made this 1st birthday card for my neighbour to give to her nephew. I have used a Lilli of the valley topper and shaped the image with my nestabilities. I have matted and layered on dark blue bassil and gingham paper (from the hobby house) I have finished off with a ribbon, flower & charm.

I am really looking forward to crafting in 2011 I think there will be lots of new ideas and changes though out the year. All in all this can only be exciting.

Just wanted to share a quick photograph of my grandchildren at Christmas. Caden refused to come on the photo was too busy playing with his DS. I have never known him to be so quite.

I did manage to get a quick photo of him while he was engrossed in the game.

On a sad note this is the 1st Christmas without my dear friend Mary yesterday would have been her birthday and tomorrow her and her husbands wedding anniversary. RIP Mary love you.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS

I am sorry that I have not blogged for a while, but life has been very busy. I would just like to wish everyone a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS and hope you all have a great time.

My Christmas this year is going to be good spending it with family and friends. I have been lucky this year that some old friends who I haven't seen in over 20 years have come back into my life and it has been nice getting back together. It just seems that we have never been apart. I have also met some very nice and lovely people in the past few months, one of which has become a very special friend. Robyn I feel I have known you all my life pity you are so far away . All in all I think 2011 is going to be a very exciting year with lots of changes.

I will be back in the new year and will try to keep up to date with my blog and may be a re vamp.

BIRTHDAY CARD

I made this card for a friend to give to her niece. It was a quick and easy card as I am also trying to get Christmas cards made as well. The backing paper is Papermania, Capsule Collection from the Aqua pad. I am loving these papers. I got them from Hobbycraft when I went with Jane. They also do a other colours and I also got the The Red Hot Pack. I have backed it on black card and just put some ribbon around the centre. The decoupage is from the Kanban range. It is all finished off with a flower, charm and some gems all from my stock. The gems I have had for years just forgot I had them, so they are getting used up now.

It has been a change to make some birthday cards instead of Christmas, but must get back to making them or I will be buying mine. My craft room is an absolute mess and I really should tidy it but am thinking it can wait till all the cards are finished, my famous last words.

FUN DAY

I have had a lovely day today with my granddaughter Ieasha and a friends daughter Caitlin. The girls had never met before but after a few minutes were chatting away like they had known each other forever. I am sure they are going to be good friends.

We spent the afternoon making cards. The cards below are the one's Ieasha made.

The next set are the one's Caitlin made. They have both made some beautiful Christmas Cards all there own ideas and designs. It was so nice to be crafting with 2 giggly girls and to hear them chattering away.

The afternoon was such a success we have arranged another one when they are going to do some stamping and painting, that should be fun. Thank you girls for a lovely fun filled afternoon xx.

HELLO AGAIN

Hello again everyone I am sorry it's been such a long time since my last blog. I just don't know were the time goes. This is a card I made for my friend to give to her boyfriend on his 21st birthday. I have done a gate fold card and overlapped the car image so as not to use ribbon.

I also stamped out his name and then punched the letters out. The alphabet stamps were my bargain of the month 99p from The Range at Scunthorpe.

I have used some of the forever Friends images on the inside and finished off with a verse.

WEDDING CARD

I have made this wedding card for a friend. I have done the open book card to make it more special. I have used baby pink card and matted it with some lovely glitter vellum, (from the Hobby House, Tetney) which I got by accident and I am glad I did as it looks stunning. You do not get the full beauty of it in the photo. I used a old dufex image on one side and flowers from Orchid Crafts. I have decorated the insides with some bits and pieces I had of the dufex crafts. All finished off with pearls and a charm.

I finished off the card by making a box and decorating it with the same flowers as on the card.

I will be back tomorrow with another card, but I am having a day off crafting today and going out for lunch with Jane and meeting Julie and Jaime later for tea. All this food will have to be careful hat I eat lol.

DAD'S BIRTHDAY

It seem ages since I have blogged and i have got a few cards to share, so will do them over the next few days.

This is the card that I made for my dad's 81st birthday which was last week. He loves his football and has been a life long Liverpool supporter, so this card was apt for him in the Liverpool colors.

Last year for his 80th birthday he and mum went a a cruise, something he has always wanted to do. They really enjoyed it and have been on two more since and another one booked.

I was sat earlier thinking about what a lot has happened in the year since his 80th birthday, and how my life has changed mostly due to my weight loss and being more confident (to which a big thank you goes to a very special person in my life), who I won't name as they would be so embarrassed.

Well back to crafting, be back either later or tomorrow with more cards.

I haven't made any New Home cards for ages and all of a sudden I have 2 to make. The first 1 is for the couple who I made the wedding card for with the butterflies on. They are moving into married quarters in a few weeks time, so good luck to them.

The 2nd card is for my nephew James who has just graduated and got a job in Huddersfield. He moved into his flat this week. Good luck James in your new job and new flat. I am reliably informed it is not to far from the pub.

I have made the cards from stash I had in and am trying so hard to use up.

Yesterday I had to have a filling and a tooth out, so today my mouth is really tender (but a good excuse to eat Ben & Jerry;s ice cream) so I am having a lazy day.

REMEMBERING A VERY SPECIAL LADY

I don't usually make bereavement cards, but last night I lost a very special person in my life and felt I had to make a card.

Mary was a very special lady who was like my second mum, she supported me when I was having Lisa, when Bill died and many other occasions though out the last 38 years.

We both shared a love of reading and always swoped books as we read the same kind of books. Mary was also the first person to buy one of my cards and has always brought her cards from me, so it was only fitting that I made this card.

We used to spend lots of time chatting and laughing and putting the world to rights and loving to hear Caden's latest words of wisdom, how we use to laugh.

RIP you were a remarkable lady and will always be in my thoughts. As always when I left you here's a big hug and I love you loads. Will miss you like mad my very dear friend.

BIRTHDAY CARDS

I have got 2 cards to share today. On the first one I have used the rest of the sheet of backing paper from the card I showed previously. This is another image that Jane has painted (we are making a good team Jane lol) Thank you for doing it. I have put the girls name which I have stamped and punched out. The alphabet stamps were my bargain of the day on Tuesday. I took mum, dad and Ieasha to Scunthorpe shopping. I have been looking for these stamps for ages, I have always borrowed Janes. I couldn't believe it when I saw them in the Range for 99p yes 99p instead of 10.99. I just need to find the punch now.

The second card is for the same girl, I have painted the image of the magnolia girl and cup cake in distress inks and have finished it off with flower, charm and buttons.

Tomorrow is a big day for my granddaughter Ieasha, she starts at the senior school (havelok) I'm sure you will be fine Ieasha make lots of new friends and join lots of clubs. I will be more nervous than her I think and will be waiting for her to come home with all the news.

ANOTHER WEDDING CARD

This is the second image on the sheet of the Forever Friends Wedding. I have made this for a friend who is getting married in September.

The wedding has got a butterfly theme so I have put a butterfly charm in the corner. I have made a box and decorated it with butterflies.

I had a lovely day yesterday. I spent the day with Jane we went shopping, had lunch and lots of laughs, a real girly day. These days are special and very enjoyable.

Tomorrow I am going to have another day crafting, then going swimming in the early evening as part of my keep fit regime. I love being in the pool I feel I can move without any restrictions although do have to watch my limits.

CREATIVE MORNING

As promised last night I have got two cards to share with you today. The first card is one I made for my friend. This card looks really pretty in real life. I just love the pale pinks and the image. I haven't put any charm's on just a bow and on the tag I have put the girls name.

This second card is for the same little girl. I have used an image kindly lent to me by Janet, and the painting was done by Jane who helped me out when I was really busy. Thank you to you both. I have used bits of backing paper that was left over from a larger sheet. I have added a charm and a flower just to finish it off.

I feel like I have had a very creative morning making these two card and a cake. I am trying really hard to get to my target with my diet and have not got far to go.
The cake I have made is a strawberry roulade and is really yummy. The good news is you can eat the whole cake on the slimming world diet as it it only 1/2 a synn in the cake. I haven't managed to eat a whole cake to myself yet lol.

I just want to share something which my grandson Keenan said to me last week. WE were at Pleasure Island and he said "Nanna you are the coolest Nanna ever", when I asked why, he said "because you have a computer, go on facebook, have the best mobile ever and....you wear jeans. Thank you for that Keenan you made me feel fantastic, love you.

Well better get back to crafting whilst still got ideas buzzing round in my head.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I am sorry that I haven't got any cards to share tonight. I did have two to put on but accidentally deleted them from my camera and had already sent them.

The 1st one was one I made for Catherine & Eoin to thank them for the lovely time I had in London. I had found a print on a Joanna Sheen disc of the London Eye which was very appropriate. I did the background papers in dark and pale blue and add some flowers, which I had brought from a craft shop in London.

The second card was one I had made for my special friend Jane whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday Jane. Hope you have had a lovely day. I wanted to put some lovely flowers on that I had brought specially for the card, but I have lost them somewhere in my craft room. How you can lose a big box of flowers I will never know.

Also want to wish Ernie a very happy birthday too.

I have got lots of things going on at the minute some hopefully very exciting and will update you all as they take shape and start happening, which will hopefully be very soon.

I am hopefully going to have a full day in my craft room tomorrow so should have some cards to share with you then.

LOVELY DAY

Just a quick blog, but I wanted to share that I have had a lovely day today at Pleasure Island. I took 2 of my grandchildren Ieasha& Keenan, Ieasha's friend Amber and my friend Julie with her son Brad.

Ieasha and Amber kept going off on there own as they like all the big fast rides and I don't do them. I did manage a few rides (smaller one) and against my better judgement went on the ghost train. I was terrified and Julie has bruising on her arm to show it, sorry Julie.

It was nice to spend time with Ieasha & Keenan because as they grow up they start to do there own thing and go out with there friends.

Sorry it's short but I am so tired.

I have made this wedding card for my Mum & Dad who are going to a wedding next week. I have just done a quick and easy card as it was short notice. I have used a Forever Friends decoupage and matted and layered. It is finished off with flower, pearl gems and a charm, I put the 3 hearts at the bottom to just finish off.

This is a card I made for a friend I have used the dufex make up decoupage and did an easel card. I have punched a boarder punch from the martha stuart range and put lace round to finish off.

So Janet 2 cards I have full filled my promise lol.

I would just like to share something that a friend who is very special to me said today. "It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about you, it's what you believe about yourself that matters." This is so true and something I will try to remember.
As they came from the last person I would have expected to say this they were more special. Thank you for those words, they meant a lot and you will always be special to me.

HELLO

Hello to all my readers. After a lot of thought and talking to friends and family (and nagging from Janet lol) I have decided to continue with my blog.

After a very difficult few months which I am not going to say anymore about as it is now in the past and I intend to move forward in a more positive frame of mind. I realised I had probably made a very hasty decision, so here I am back again.

I have just spent 5 days with my niece Catherine and her husband Eoin in London, I have been totally spoilt and well looked after.

I cannot believe how much we managed to do in the short time I was there, London Eye, Tower of London lots of museums and of course some shopping. Even found some fantastic craft shops which I spent hours browsing round. The highlight of my trip was to see The Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, I felt so important watching from a box and of course wine served at the interval.

This is a photograph of Catherine and I in our box with glass of wine. All in all I was very spoilt, we also visited some lovely restaurants. Just what I needed. I will never be able to thank you both enough for your kindness and generosity but most of all for believing in me that I could do London, although it did include a lot of black cabs lol.

Just a quick thank you to all my friends who have been very supportive over the past few months you all know who you are, so thank you xx

I am now going to make a card, got lots to do. Will hopefully blog it later.

SORRY ABOUT NOT BLOGGING

I am sorry for not updating my blog, it seems ages since my last blog. Thing round here have been pretty hectic, although I have been making cards I do not seem to have had time to photograph them. I did have one to put on today but when I went to do it the photo was awful and didn't show up very well. I will try and put some on very soon.

The days just seem to fly past at the minute, my dad has been in hospital and this has caused a lot of worry for us all. He does seem better at the moment but still not quite right. My health has been a bit erratic of late and I know this is down to me trying to do to much, which I promised myself that I wouldn't do. I find it so hard to rest and sit and do nothing.

Also with the nice weather I have been spending time with my grandchildren, we have been to the beach and for ice creams after tea, when the homework is done of course lol. There is no more precious time than spending time with them and try and spend as much time as I can with them, they grow up to fast.

My granddaughter Ieasha has just spent 2 taster days at the senior school that she will be going to in September. I cannot believe she is going, were have all the years gone. Anyway Lisa and myself were on edge all the first day, wondering if she was ok and everything going through our minds as you do. No need to worry though she came home really excited and cannot wait to go she loved it.

Well I will finish now as I feel I might be waffling on. In answer to your question Jane yes I am blogging lol.

BIRTHDAY CARD

I have made this card for my Mum to give to my Sister In-Law. Every year I have to do one with shoes on so as I have exhausted all the shoes in my collection I have gone back to the City Girls Collection.

I have painted them with distress inks and the papers I have used are from the Bo Bunny range, purchased from RWS. I have punched the flowers from some left over paper and put a rose in the middle. I just added a charm and some glitter glue on the sash on the dress and necklace.

I had lost my inspiration for making cards but thankfully it is back and I enjoyed painting and making this card, so hopefully it is back to stay, as it has been a bit all over the place the last few months.

I have made this card for a friend who had a baby boy on Tuesday, Thomas James. Congratulations Gemma & James.

I have made a large easel card and will make a box for it to fit in. The image is from my very good friend Jane and it came already painted lol. Thanks Jane your a gem. I have used baby backing paper from Craft Creations and bazzil from RWS. I have used a Martha Stewart boarder punch and decorated with ribbon from my stash. All finished off with flowers and a charm.

I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather, i seems to hot to craft, but cards must be made. This is a baby card I have made for a friend. They all seem to be boy's at the moment. I have another friend about to give birth any day and know that is a boy to.

I have made the card like a book. I have used the Forever Friends decoupage and decorated it it with flowers and a charm.

The inside I have made a pocket to put a gift voucher or money into. Everything used is from my stash. I keep using things up but it never seems to go down. Oh well I will keep trying.

CADEN'S WISDOM

Just thought I would share this story with my readers. My grandson Caden who is just 5 years old had been learning about the Icelandic volcano at school this week. When I saw him today we were sat chatting about school and that his best friend had gone on holiday to Turkey for a week.

Caden said he had told him to be careful in the aeroplane because of the stuff from the volcano could get in the aeroplane and make it crash when it gets to Turkey. I said but Caden the volcano is in Iceland not Turkey. He looked at me as though I was stupid and said Nanna ready for it ......they have moved it. bet you all didn't know that did you . lol . I was then informed that did I know that everything in Turkey is free, a child's interpretation of Fully Inclusive.

I do love the innocence and the interpretation of children. Caden I do love you

WEDDING CARD

A friend asked me make her a wedding card for her Niece. This is the card I have made. I am quite proud of myself because everything apart from the flowers are from stash I have had for ages. It is a good feeling when you use old stuff up, but it never seems to go down.

The image is a dufex one and I have edged it with lace, I have used pale pink pearl paper and put it through the cuttlebug to lift it. It is finished with some ivory flowers and pearls. The message was printed on white paper so I chalked it to blend it in.

I'M BACK

I am finally back into the world of craft and blogging. For many of you who know me will know that I have MS. Over the past few months I have been having a relapse but being me chose to ignore it. Well it finally caught up with me and last weekend I had to have some intense treatment, which was not very nice, but it was well worth it because I cannot believe how much better I feel now. I think I have learnt a very valuable lesson "do not ignore what is happening".

I really could not have got through the past few months with out all my special friends, all of whom have played some part in supporting me. A HUGE thank you to you all. I went back to the crop at RWS today and really enjoyed meeting up with everyone
and will now try and blog regular again. (promise Janet). Well enough of me and on to the card.

I have used backing paper from the Wild Asparagus range, I have used loads from this range just lately, I am really pleased RWS stock them, thanks Tracey. The image is off the glitzy lady CD, I had some paper lace that I wanted to use up but felt it needed something else so, I weaved some lilac ribbon through to just give it that lift, as always finished off with flowers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN

This birthday card is for a very special lady who I have been very good friends with for about 20 years. Ann and I first met at work Ann worked in the Community Psychiatric Nursing Service and I worked for Social Services in the same department, we hit it off and became very firm friends.

I don't see much of her and her husband now as when they retired they moved to Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland a beautiful place. I have spent many happy holidays there.

Ann's husband Raymond takes you on sight seeing tours and you never know were you are going to end up, some days travelling miles and miles in the car looking at all the beautiful scenery.

We also find lots of old book shops as we both have a love of reading and spend hours browsing the old shops in quaint little towns. That was a lovely trip down memory lane, think I will have to go visit soon.

Now back to the card, the papers I have used is from the My Minds Eye, Wild Asparagus range, I am loving this range, all from RWS thank you for stocking the Tracey. The flowers are from my stash but from RWS also, I remember seeing the small green flowers before they went on sale and wanted to buy them there and then, which I did and I think they match perfectly. The image is from the kanban range and is just perfect for my friend Ann. I have just put some lace around it to lift it a bit.

I just want to post a quick blog today to thank my very good friends Jane and Janet for all the support they have given me over the past few weeks whilst I have not been feeling to good.

I have MS and occasionally I have a difficult time and this has been one of them. Jane you you have been great helping me with all sorts of everyday things and just being there listening to me moan on. Janet you have taken the trouble to contact me everyday to check I am OK which really means a lot to me. I would also like to thank all my friends who have been supportive.

I am now feeling much better after some treatment and will soon be back into world causing havoc.

CATHERINE'S BIRTHDAY

This is the card I have made for my very special Niece Catherine. I have had lots of trouble for some reason with this card, I have taken it apart and put together 4 times, just could not get it right. I hope she likes it.

I have used everything from all my odds and ends, it felt good using up bits and not starting a new sheet of paper, but must get some more of the black flower paper I love it and have not got any left. The image was borrowed from Janet, thanks Janet.

I don't see Catherine very often as I would like, as she lives in London with her husband Eoin, although I can feel a visit coming on soon as it would be lovely to see you both. I think I have only seen you both twice since the wedding and that was 4 years ago. It was a lovely wedding they got married in Knightsbridge London, and I was honored to be asked to do a reading at the service. All in all it was a lovely weekend catching up with family and touring London.

WEEKEND UPDATE

This is a card I have made for someone, they wanted it for today, so quickly made it this morning. I needed 3 of the burgundy flowers but when I came to put them on I realised I only had 2, disaster. Luckily I remembered Tracey at RWS had a class this afternoon so a quick phone call and the day was saved. Thanks Tracey you were a lifesaver.

I had painted the image last night so only had to put the card together today all the papers are what has been left over from previous cards, taking a leaf out of Tracey's book and trying to use 1 piece of leftover on each card I make.

I had a lovely weekend with my special friend Stuart for his birthday. Went out on Friday night a very late night and had an early morning as his daughter Freya wanted me watch her play football and kick off was 10am and we had to leave at 9am to get there in time.

Early on Saturday morning wondering what had possessed me to agree to this I reluctantly got out of bed and got ready. Well what a surprise it was, the girls played really well and won 3-0 they could show some professional footballers (who earn millions) how it is done. Well done girls I hope you win your league I know you are top at the moment with 3 games to go. Freya you are a brilliant footballer well done.

Well after a fun filled weekend with lots of food and drink (vodka) today I got ready to go get weighed at Slimming World fully expecting to have put weight on. Imagine my surprise when I gingerly got on the scales and had LOST 2lb, ecstatic. I don't intend to stick to the weekend diet sure it wouldn't last for long and would soon start putting the pounds on again. I don't intend to go back there, it has been to much hard work and I am nearly at target.

I would just like to wish all my followers and reader a very happy Easter. I am trying not to eat any chocolate and stick to my diet, but think I am going to fail. A friend has just brought me a bottle of wine and a bag of my favourite chocolate praline chocolate truffles. I will really have to try hard and make them last over several days. Think it is going to be very difficult.

I am going for a family meal tomorrow, which will be very nice. I am looking forward to seeing my nephews as I haven't seen them for ages. One is at university and the other is living and working in London. The rest of the weekend will be spent crafting so should have plenty to share next week.

This is my entry for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The stamp is a new one I brought from RWS. I have used blue bazzil and then some pink floral on top. I have used the nestabilities to cut the square shape and just decorated with flowers and buttons.

I do not use buttons very often and I really enjoyed using them on this card.

EASTER CARDS

These are 2 Easter Cards that I have made. When I was doing my craft room I found loads of Easter dufex sheets so thought I had better use them up. (give me more space for new things). I have done the easel card again which I am loving doing, they are so easy but very effective.

I hadn't realised that Easter was so near so everything was a rush, I hadn't even brought any Easter eggs yet.

The backing papers I have used the green one is K &CO and the pink is a down load from cuddly buddly. I have used green and pink bassil. All purchased from RWS. The flowers are from my stash.

I have made this card for someones 18th Birthday. I have used one of the City Girls stamps again. I have pleated lace around the image, thank you Tracey for sharing this and giving me a lesson. I have used distress inks for the painting broken china (dress) vintage photo & antique linen for the hair and skin in tattered rose.

The backing papers are from RWS, and the flowers and charm is from my stash.

MOTHER'S DAY

I would just like to wish all the mum's out there a very happy mother's day.

I have had a lovely day, my daughter and grandchildren got me some lovely cards and a gift voucher so I can spoil myself. My very special friend ( who is like my second daughter) made me the most beautiful card, I will share it with you all tomorrow. Thank you Nicki it means so much to me. When I opened it I had a lump in my throat, it was so thoughtful. I would be very proud to have you has a daughter.

My mum and dad then turned up with a big bunch of flower's and a large punnet of grapes, anyone who knows me no's I'm a BIG fruit addict.

MAGNOLIA DOWN UNDER CHALLENGE

This is my card for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. I have really enjoyed this challenge, thanks Jane for the recipe.

WHIFF OF JOY CHALLENGE

This is my card for the Whiff Of Joy Challenge. I have stamped one of the City Girls again. I have used distress inks to paint the image. I have used Vintage Photo & Antique Linen for the hair. Not sure what the dress is painted in because Tracey lent me some.

The backing paper is old stock, trying to use some up, but finding it difficult to find just what I want, which is a good excuse to keep buying. I always see just what I want in the shop and have to buy it.

I have also had the flowers for a long time so just inked the flower in the centre to give the color I wanted.

The card is finished off with gems and the usual charm.

I am going to give this card to a friend for her birthday.

FRIDAY SKETCHERS 92

This my card for the Friday Sketcher challenge. I have used one of the City Girls stamps. The girls dress is painted in broken china distress ink, hair is antique linen and vintage photo.

I have used blue from the bazzil range and the spotted paper is some that Tracey so kindly gave me I am loving it. Thank you Tracey. I have used some lace across the middle, which was a gift from someone, thank you I love it.

The flowers that I have used are from Prima and I have put blue brads in the centre and of course the charms are back.

MOTHER'S DAY CARD

This is a card I have made for Mother's Day. I cannot take credit for the basic card as this was and idea from Tracey at RWS, I have adapted it for Mother's Day.

I have used lilac pearl card and white pearl card. I have embossed the lilac card with the cuttlebug embossing folders. The medallion in the centre is heat embossed with silver sparkle embossing powder. I have stamped the image 3 times and cut each layer smaller.

The card is then finished off with lilac ribbon and white mulberry flowers.

BIRTHDAY CARD

I have used the same stamp that I used on the card for Tracey. I really like this stamp, I hadn't used it for ages and forgot how much I liked it.

I have used the papers that are bo bunny, I have used a Martha Stewart boarder punch and lilac flowers to match the dress which I have painted with distress inks(dusty concord).

Sorry it is a short post but I have got lots of birthdays in March and April so really busy, as every one now expects a handmade card now.

BIRTHDAY CARD

I have printed a silhouette of the footballer on photo paper then printed again on printable acetate and over laid it. It is then matted and layered on black and gold card. The papers I have used are dovecraft.

CRAFT ROOM

As promised the pictures of my craft room. Firstly I must thank Daz for all the hard work he put into decorating it for me, you are a star, and I am really grateful.

I have not got the desk or shelves yet but will be doing that next week. I thought I would have the first picture on the tidy uncluttered desk. I'm sure it will not be like that tomorrow. The problem with a tidy craft room is I cannot find anything.

I now have my desk top computer working again, now I have got the monitor working again. So will not have to move very far when making my card, just to the kitchen for coffee.

I am still waiting for the shelves to be put up but am using my book shelf sure I will still need it when they are up, cannot believe how much stuff I have got. Oh well I do need it.

Jane I have got my calender Hunky Men that you and Jess got me for Christmas over my desk, for day dreaming moments.

TRACEY'S BIRTHDAY CARD

As promised this is the card I made for my special friend Tracey. The card is 8" square I have never made on this size before but really do like this size card. The only problem I had was I had brought some envelopes to fit this size card and imagine my horror when the card didn't fit inside and I had to give Tracey the card that day, (sorry Tracey about the botched envelope) I would have made a box for it but didn't have time.

None of the products used are from RWS as I wanted to use things she doesn't sell. The stamp I have had for ages just haven#t used it, but think I will as I quite like it again.

SURPRISE PARTY

The above photo is of a few of us at Tracey's surprise party that we had today. It was a lovely day and I am sure everyone who attended enjoyed it.

It has been so much fun organising it and sneaking around, but Nicki and myself have found it very hard not to say anything. All through the organising I have met many new people through trying to get to as many classes as I could. I thought Tracey might get suspicious as I was popping in most days, but she said she just thought I was lonely lol.

It was really nice that Tracy's children came to the party but a shame that Neil was working. Anne you should have fetched Maurice, he did a wonderful job with the decorations and a good job he had the bluetak.

It was a pleasure to organise this for you Tracey you give so much to everyone, it was nice to do something for you. You only get back what you put in and you certainly do put a lot into everything.

WEDDING INVITATION

I am making these wedding Invitations for a friend of mine. Gemma has designed them herself so I just copied the design, which made them easier to do.

I have used ivory pearl card with a strip of burgundy ribbon, I have punched a square of mirri card with a heart cut from the cuttlebug and embossed all finished off with a burgundy rose bud in the centre.

I seem to be back into my diet now, I lost 2lb this week which I was really pleased about, getting there slowly, but I am sure I will make it.

The craft room is still not done, waiting for some friends to come and paint it for me, then it will be all go. I am going to have a mass sort out, maybe I'll find things I had thought was lost for good.

I made this card for my Mum to give to my nephew David's birthday. Hope you had a lovely birthday David.

I have used a download from the Cuddly Buddly website. I have purchased loads off this site in the past, they do lots of different backing papers that are always there when you want them.

I have been painting some images this week, I am still learning the shadowing but hopefully will pick it up soon, and will be able to share the cards with you on here.

I am going to spend the afternoon crafting at Running With Scissors, looking forward to catching up with my friends.

ANNIVERSARY CARD

I was asked to make a anniversary card with gardening on it, as I make a lot of cards for her I was struggling to find something.

On this card I have used a decoupage sheet, after using lots of die cut one's it was a shock to have to cut it out. Surprising I enjoyed doing it. I have used a sheet of backing paper from the Delights range (running with scissors) and just plain dark green card. I have lifted the decoupage by layering it in silver mirri card.

As it was for a male I needn't want to put my usual flowers and charms but did manage to put this silver heart on.

I would like to wish my cousin Dawn a very happy birthday for tomorrow, have a great day Dawn x

These are 2 cards that I have made today. I love making baby cards. The top card is made from a kanban topper, having 4 to make for the same people make it a bit difficult. I have made the flower from vellum, an idea I picked up from Tracey at the Running with Scissors crop yesterday, and put a mulberry flower in the centre.

The bottom card is a Forever Friends decoupage which I have matted and layered using the Nesties. I have made the flower from the backing papers and added a gem and teddy charm.

I went to the auditorium with Jane & Jess on Wednesday night to see "Never Forget" it was one of the best shows I ever seen. I have never laughed so much, my sides hurt.

I have got some more card's to share but must wait as they are for people who may read my blog and don't want to spoil it for them.

Just a quick note to thank everyone for reading my blog, I cannot believe how many hits, (over 1,000) I have had since starting it.

I thought nobody would be interested in reading and following me. I am struggling at the moment to get back into crafting but am sure it will come back soon. Hopefully when the crop restarts on Saturday it will kick start the enthusiasm again.

I am currently turning my spare bedroom into a craft room, looking forward to having everything together, and who knows I might find things that I had forgot I had or thought I had lost. It is taking ages because I am sorting through lots of boxes of things and keep finding old photo's and then spend time reminiscing. I must be more strict with myself.

Just want to say a big thank you to Tracey for your support last week. It was really appreciated, you helped me see things more clearly, love you and a big hug to you.

Well really must get back to sorting the spare room.

This is just a quick update, I have made 2 cards today. I cannot share them yet as they are for a friend's birthday and I know she reads the blog.

It has taken me all day to make the cards I really am struggling to get my inspiration back. I popped into Running With Sissors today and had a coffee with Alanm It was really nice to catch up, I enjoyed our chat and you do make a good cup of coffee. It must be a first that I went into the shop and never brought anything, I'm sure it wont last long.

FIRST CARD OF 2010

I have made this card for a very special couple, Phil and Amanda for their engagement.

I have been very close friends with Phil's mum Carol for many years in fact since we were 14. We met on holiday in Devon and just got on so well the friendship has continued even though Carol lived in Manchester we have remained close all these years.

I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world, I will take this as I am not the No 1 girlfriend now Phil lol. When Phil was small he always had lots of girlfriends (not surprising he was a little cutie). But he always said I was his No 1 girlfriend. Sorry Phil.

Well Carol it is my turn now to buy the hat.

The card is made from a decoupage sheet from Craft Creations and has been matted and layered and as usual finished off with a flower and charm.

BACK TO NORMAL

Well everything is back to normal, Christmas decorations put away for another year and craft things coming out again.

I am making the year 2010 the year that I get to my target weight. At the beginning of 2009 when I first started the journey of my weight loss and have lost 3st 4lbs so just another 21lbs to go.

On New Years eve I sat and reflected how I had felt just a year ago and I felt so much better, health wise and confident. A big thank you to all who have supported me. Special thanks must go to Susan Halton my slimming world consultant, who makes you feel so good and gives you the encouragement to carry on. Thanks Susan your a star.

Well that's all for now, going to make some beefburgers, thought I better start doing some homemade food instead of all this virtual cooking on face book.
